What Is New: Shareable Links For Every Calculator

We just released one of our most practical upgrades: you can now generate a shareable link from every Money Meister tool and send your exact scenario in seconds.

This means you no longer need to send five screenshots, retype assumptions in a chat, or explain which toggle was switched on. One link now captures your calculator setup and opens with those same values for whoever receives it.

Whether you are reviewing a mortgage deal with your partner, comparing pension contributions with a financial adviser, or checking salary sacrifice decisions with HR, shared links make the conversation faster and clearer.

Why This Feature Matters For Real Financial Decisions

Most money decisions are collaborative. Even when one person does the first calculation, the final call usually involves someone else: a partner, accountant, broker, parent, friend, or colleague. Before this release, it was easy to lose context between people. You could share a headline number, but not the assumptions behind it.

That creates bad decisions. A mortgage payment estimate means very little if the term, fees, and overpayment assumptions are hidden. A tax estimate can mislead if the selected region, student loan plan, or pension method is unknown. A pension forecast can look optimistic if someone does not realize the growth rate or retirement age was aggressive.

Shareable links solve that by making assumptions portable. You are not just sharing an outcome. You are sharing the full model.

How To Use The Share Link Feature In 30 Seconds

  1. Open any calculator and enter your numbers.
  2. Click Generate Shareable Link in the page header.
  3. Paste the link into email, WhatsApp, Slack, or notes.
  4. The recipient opens it and sees the same scenario prefilled.
  5. They can then adjust assumptions to test alternatives side by side.

It is intentionally simple, because financial planning already has enough friction.

Best Use Cases By Tool Category

Tax and Take-Home Pay Planning

If you are negotiating salary, considering a bonus structure, or comparing PAYE vs self-employed options, shared links remove guess work from tax conversations.

Start with our UK Tax Calculator, then share variants for different pension contribution rates or student loan plans. For one-off payments, use the Bonus Tax Calculator. If you are close to £100k, share scenarios from the Tax Trap Optimizer to compare salary vs pension sacrifice trade-offs.

You can also pass around planning links for more specific cases:Self-Employed Tax Calculator,Contractor Tax Calculator,Capital Gains Tax Calculator, andChild Benefit Calculator.

Mortgage and Property Decisions

Buying a home is a sequence of decisions, not one decision. Shared links are especially useful when couples are balancing deposit size, rate assumptions, monthly affordability, and total cost.

Use the Mortgage Calculator to share baseline repayment scenarios. Then test alternatives in theMortgage Affordability Calculator,Joint Mortgage Calculator,Stamp Duty Calculator, andRent vs Buy Calculator.

For landlords and investors, links from theRental Yield Calculatormake portfolio discussions with brokers or co-investors much more concrete.

Retirement, Savings, and Debt Strategy

The biggest long-term gains often come from small adjustments made consistently. Shared links help people test those adjustments together and commit to a plan.

Build and share retirement paths with thePension Calculator. For growth planning, compare assumptions in theCompound Interest Calculator. For debt reduction, send scenarios from theDebt CalculatorandDebt Snowball vs Avalanche Calculator.

If transport spending is a live issue, theCar Finance Comparison CalculatorandCycle to Work Calculatorare easy wins for shared household budgeting.

Practical Workflows You Can Use Today

Couple financial planning workflow

One person builds a baseline with theRent Affordability CalculatorandMortgage Calculator, shares links, and both partners adjust assumptions independently. This surfaces disagreement early and usually leads to better, faster decisions.

Adviser or broker pre-meeting workflow

Instead of sending fragmented notes, send 2 to 4 links covering your key scenarios. For example: salary baseline, mortgage option A, mortgage option B, and pension affordability case. This cuts meeting setup time and keeps discussion focused on strategy.

Team benefits and HR workflow

If your workplace is discussing salary sacrifice options, share examples from theCycle to Work CalculatorandUK Tax Calculatorso employees can understand monthly cash-flow impact before they opt in.
